EDS-Network-Utility

When one of EDS's Ethernet based devices is first installed with its factory configuration, there may be a challenge with locating its IP address. If you happen to have a DHCP server on your network, the Ethernet device will use an address assigned by the DHCP server. In some environments (esp. corporate), all users may not have access to the DHCP server log files in order to determine which address was assigned to the Ethernet Device, which further complicates things.

To help with this situation, we make available a Windows based program that will automatically discover any EDS manufactured Ethernet device that are installed on your local network. To use it, simply download, unzip the files into a folder, and verify JRE(TM) is already installed. Then, run the program called “EDS Network Utility”, and click on the ‘Discover Devices’ button. The discovery process takes about 15 seconds, and the IP address of any discovered devices will be displayed.
